We received this survey overnight: https://www.conference-news.co.uk/coronavirus-updates-news/september-seen-critical-month-events-recovery-survey-suggests

According to 566 corporates, agencies and venues, September is viewed as being the month when bookings return. Does that tally with your view?

Interesting to distinguish between conferences/major events with international participation for which the return may be later due to travel concerns ongoing, and national events where that barrier is not so daunting. By comparison, Hunan Province in China held its first major national tradeshow last week https://www.exhibitionworld.co.uk/auto-show-opens-in-hunan-amidst-strict-health-check-procedures. Not only was it great news on May Day, a day when Chinese traditionally think about buying big ticket items, but for the automotive sector. Strict screening was in place prior to registration, clearly a pre-requisite but a sign of things to come in the UK maybe. Strong lobbying in Germany by AUMA and the last patient moving out of the IFEMA venue in Madrid are also positive signs of movement on the Continent. https://www.exhibitionworld.co.uk/medical-mission-accomplished-at-ifema-as-field-hospital-closes-at-exhibition-centre

We would like to extend this official invitation for you to join us at the 1st edition of Clinics & Healthcare Supplies Fair (C&HS 2020) and Private Healthcare Development Forum (PHDF 2020) held on October 28th to 30th, 2020 at Convention & Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China.

C&HS 2020 presents unparalleled opportunities for sourcing the latest health-related equipment and services for private hospitals and clinics. The fair serves as an ideal international platform for some of the industry’s best suppliers to showcase latest developments and product innovations in their field.

On the sidelines of C&HS 2020, the 1st edition of the Private Healthcare Development Forum (PHDF 2020), is the ideal space of exchanges and meetings allowing to attend various conferences and thematic panels related to the sector of the private healthcare industry, it will be held with the participation of health professionals, experts, researchers and academics. This is an essential opportunity to engage in a fruitful debate with experts from different sectors on market-oriented operation and commercial effect.

In recent years, China’s medical institutions have developed rapidly. Although non-government medical institutions account for more than half of the total medical institutions in China, they account for only 14% of the total medical institutions in terms of revenue, which fully reflects the huge potential of China’s private healthcare industry and the great room for growth. This is a positive sign for health-related multinational companies to enter the Chinese market and experience explosive growth. Your greatest opportunity for business expansion has been, will be, still is, now!

As a specialist events logistics provider, we have been told to expect events to begin probably in European venues initially, in the Autumn, but probably later in the UK. We are already getting enquiries but we are yet to see many contracting as yet, as everyone seems to be waiting to see what everyone else is doing. Obviously, a lot depends on forthcoming promised announcements from the government on live events and social distancing measures.

Personally, I prefer driving in Europe, so bring it on!

As a provider of marketing services to events organisations, our clients tell us that they do have confidence in being able to establish physical experiences in Q4 which bear a resemblance in capacity to pre-lockdown numbers.

Most are surviving on the goodwill and pragmatism of existing delegates to switch to virtual events.
